Perhaps it’s overstated, but Michigan needs to get it together. It’s pretty costly on our mind and emotions (and therefore our bodies) to be cooped up for an extended period of time. And here we are, living among blooming, freezing tulips. We know the sun will warm us up soon, but when you’re waiting — or hurting — soon can be so frustrating and vague.
And yet God is that way constantly. He takes His time, which can seem irresponsible and neglectful. But Lamentations 3:25 says, “The Lord is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him.”
Psalm 130:5 says, “I wait for the Lord, my soul waits, and in his word I hope.”
That’s a big “AND.” As we wait for tulips to de-frost or for a family to heal or for a wound to mend or for depression to go away… we must not be deceived by the great Liar who wants you to lean into your own ideas, feed your anger and get into emotional knots. Let’s read Scripture instead and find places like YOGA that are blankets for the soul.
We wait.
And we hope.
